Automotive Tooling Engineer

Job Summary
Design, develop, and validate automotive glass tooling products and processes (including artwork, shaping, tempering, lamination, and inspection); coordinate with OE Engineering, tooling vendors, and plant process owners; drive tooling trials, first-part development, maintenance, and standardization; apply 3D CAD (Creo), GD&T, and tolerance analysis; support material research, risk mitigation, and data management; travel 10-15% and uphold NSG/Pilkington safety and quality standards; collaborate across teams to ensure tooling aligns with assembly processes and customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in mechanical design and detailing
- Understanding of the fabrication manufacturing industry involving CNC machining and welding
- Experience in using problem-solving models and providing statistical data to support results
- Proficient in 3D CAD applications
- Knowledge of GDT and tolerance stack-up analysis
