Job Summary
Provide instruction in automotive technology with program-related activities; develop and implement curriculum, supervise activities, and help students gain skills and self-esteem through hands-on experiences in automotive maintenance and light repair. Emphasizes safety, procedures, equipment, and tools; create a syllabus with objectives, norms, attendance and grading policies; develop authentic, engaging projects and assessments; maintain online attendance/grades; improve attendance to meet CTE goals; establish partnerships with local industry; participate in staff meetings and professional development; promote the program and stay current with industry trends; maintain records, order equipment, and foster student involvement; counsel students as needed; communicate progress with parents and students; contribute to program success and professional growth; uphold confidentiality and professionalism; demonstrate proficiency, flexibility, accountability, and positive demeanor; accommodate physical requirements (lifting up to 50-75 lbs) and safe classroom operations; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for a teaching certificate/license in applicable field of education to be issued by the Maryland State Department of Education
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
- Teaching experience preferred (minimum of three years)
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information

- Strong classroom management and safety focus
