Job Summary
Diagnose vehicles according to appropriate certifications and perform complex, heavy-duty repairs outlined on multi-point inspection and repair orders. Explain technical diagnoses to customers, store managers, and service consultants while recommending necessary services and documenting all work in customer files. Adhere to safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and dealership standards, and report any concerns to your direct supervisor. Work flexible schedules including weekends, with closed Sundays, while meeting physical demands such as standing eight hours, lifting up to 70 pounds, and handling hazardous materials. Possess ASE certifications or equivalent experience, a valid driver's license, and a state inspector license or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
Required Qualifications
- Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience
- ASE certifications
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics
- Valid Driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess State Inspector License or ability to obtain a State Inspector license within 30 days of hire date
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed
- Must be able to stand up to eight hours per day in the shop
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
