Job Summary
Diagnose vehicles using appropriate certifications and perform complex, heavy-duty repairs according to Multi-point Inspection and Repair Order guidelines. Explain technical diagnoses to non-mechanical staff and customers, recommending necessary services while documenting all work in customer files. Utilize computerized equipment for diagnostics and adhere to safety procedures, reporting concerns to the supervisor. Work flexible schedules including weekends, avoiding Sundays, while lifting up to 70 pounds and standing for eight hours in a shop environment with moderate to loud noises and potential exposure to hazardous materials.
Required Qualifications
- Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience
- ASE certifications
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics
- Valid Driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess State Inspector License or ability to obtain a State Inspector license within 30 days of hire date
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed
- Ability to stand up to eight hours per day in the shop
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
