Job Summary
LCV Auto Technician needed in Palmerston North to diagnose, repair and maintain light commercial vehicles (van/ute/small trucks), perform routine servicing to manufacturer standards, liaise with service team/customers for approvals, document work, stay updated on vehicle technology, and maintain workshop safety and compliance. Requires 3+ years of automotive experience or a relevant trade qualification; strong diagnostic and mechanical skills; Class 2 licence preferred (Class 5 support available). Eligible applicants include NZ citizens, residents, or those with a valid work visa. Overtime paid at time and a half; hourly rate $40+ with tool and meal allowance; 45 hours per week guaranteed; manufacturer training on Fuso and Mercedes-Benz; opportunities for career progression.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in automotive or a relevant trade qualification
- Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and mechanical skills
- Class 2 licence ideal (Class 5 support available)
- NZ citizen, resident, or hold a valid work visa
