Job Summary
Diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles using diagnostic equipment, charts, and manuals. Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements. Explain repairs and provide customer service while keeping the shop clean and organized. Maintain accurate records by reading and transcribing data in a fast-paced environment. This role requires ASE certifications, a valid driver's license, and experience with automotive systems or diesel mechanics. Candidates must be prepared for hands-on training and may lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- demonstrated experience as an auto mechanic on cars and light trucks
- ASE certificate
- Automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training
- ASE certifications
- valid driver license
- Graduated from an associate degree program in auto maintenance and repair
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service
- Must read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records
- May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a lube technician, or prepared to do on-the-job training
- Understanding of automotive air-conditioning systems
- Ability to use the diagnostic equipment
- Experience with heavy equipment and as a diesel mechanic, diesel engine knowledge, or prepared to do on-the-job training
- Good hand-eye coordination
