Job Summary
Automotive Technicians at CarMax inspect, recondition, and repair vehicles to ensure safety and reliability for customers. Responsibilities include diagnosing and fixing issues across a range of domestic and foreign vehicles, working as part of a team, and adhering to health and safety compliance standards. Technicians are supported in their professional growth through training opportunities to acquire new skills and accreditations. Key qualifications include experience in various repair areas, strong manual dexterity, physical stamina, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, heating and air conditioning
- Knowledge of health and safety compliance
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina, able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Where required, maintain ASE Certifications

- Must maintain ASE Certifications where required by State/Local law
