Job Summary
Diagnose, inspect, and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning while adhering to manufacturer specifications. Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs, test-drive vehicles using diagnostic tools, and explain mechanical diagnoses in non-technical terms to service advisors and customers. Continuously learn new technical information through formal training to stay current with rapidly changing technology. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to ensure customers receive accurate service promptly. Execute warranty repairs and maintain detailed records of vehicle findings.
Required Qualifications
- Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
- Valid Maine Vehicle Inspection license
- Possess a valid driver's license and a favorable motor vehicle record
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check
- At least 18 years of age
- Authorized to work in the United States
