Job Summary
Diagnose, inspect, and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning while adhering to dealership standards. Provide labor and time estimates for additional repairs, explain mechanical diagnoses in non-technical terms to service advisors and customers, and communicate directly with the Service Advisor to ensure accurate service. Execute repairs under warranty in accordance with manufacturer specifications, test-drive vehicles using diagnostic tools, and oversee repairs completed by other mechanics. Train new technicians and continuously learn new technical information through formal sessions to stay updated on rapidly changing technology.
Required Qualifications
- ASE certification
- Valid Maine Vehicle Inspection license
- Valid driver's license
- Favorable motor vehicle record
- Pass a pre-employment background check
- Authorized to work in the United States
- At least 18 years of age
- Tuesday-Saturday Schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Over 2 years of technician experience
- Strong knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Experience diagnosing and repairing automotive systems such as the engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
- Ability to continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions
- Proven work ethic
- Team player who is process-oriented
