Job Summary
Automotive Technician responsible for inspection, diagnosis, and repair of vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning; explains diagnoses and repairs to customers/non-technical staff; performs tests and records findings; works in a manufacturing facility and may operate on an assembly line; requires strong communication, ability to learn new technical information in training, and familiarity with diagnostic equipment; requires a valid driver's license, ability to pass background and drug screen, and availability for varying shifts with possible overtime; high school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years’ experience or training; OEM experience preferred; computer skills and teamwork emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Current driver’s license; clean driving record
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Work assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends and holidays; work overtime when required
- Arrive to work on-time
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Preferably have experience with OEM
- Computer skills required
- Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
- Working knowledge of shop equipment such as diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
- Must obtain a high school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
