Job Summary
Automotive Technician at Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) supports the automotive service team by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles under guidance from experienced technicians. Responsibilities include change oil and scheduled maintenance, inspections of steering, suspension, and brake systems, installing batteries and checking electrical systems, tire maintenance, installing parts, and road-testing vehicles. The role emphasizes customer service, clear explanations of repair procedures, and delivering high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced environment. The position offers a performance-based pay model (flat-rate) and opportunities for ASE certifications; travel not required as described, with training and development opportunities and benefits. The role requires a valid driver's license, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to learn and perform basic automotive tasks. Minimum qualifications include basic automotive knowledge and the ability to perform oil changes, inspections, and tire-related repairs; ASE certification or equivalent qualifications are preferred and encouraged, with certification supported by the company."
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid automobile driver's license at all times and be able to drive customer and company vehicles
- Basic understanding of general automotive maintenance & tire repair services including: Oil changes
- Reading, writing, and math skills
- Two years of automotive repair experience preferred (preferred qualifications) or vocational-technical training/certifications
- A.S.E certification or equivalent external qualifications or training certifications (preferred)
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks
- Knowledge of inspecting steering, suspension, and brake systems
- Ability to perform tire maintenance and repair tasks
- Ability to obtain/maintain ASE certifications within first two years of employment
