Job Summary
Diagnose and repair vehicles by evaluating malfunction codes with diagnostic tools and conducting in-depth inspections of engine, transmission, and brake systems. Perform routine maintenance tasks including tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements. Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status and maintaining technical documentation. Convey necessary vehicle repair information to customers in a clear and concise manner to ensure high satisfaction and repeat business. Use dealership computer software and apply a problem-solving attitude to find the best solutions for customer needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong customer service and communications skills
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification
- Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification
