Job Summary
Automotive Technician role focusing on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles per MFA Oil/Big O standards. Responsibilities include brake/front-end/alignment work, quality control, training and coaching peers, maintaining workflow and productivity, delivering Extra Care Services, updating invoicing information, leveraging the company’s purchasing program for profitability, completing required training, and ensuring vehicle inspections are executed consistently while meeting service, sales, and productivity goals. Strong emphasis on customer communication, safety, adherence to policies, and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of two years of experience as a lube/tire/service technician
- Current Motor Vehicle Inspection License (for Missouri based stores)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Ability to operate computer and office productivity machinery
- Ability to operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to exchange accurate information with customers
- Ability to work with hazardous materials
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to comply with PPE regulations
- Vision, hearing, and communication abilities
- Ability to move and retrieve products weighing up to 75 pounds
- Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
- Two or more years of experience in an automotive shop environment (preferred)
- ASE certifications (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and in a team (preferred)
- Ability to work at a fast pace (preferred)
- Strong verbal communication skills (preferred)
- Sales abilities (preferred)
- Time management and multi-tasking (preferred)
- Detail-oriented (preferred)
