Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, and safety concerns. Complete repairs and maintenance tasks, including engine, brake, and suspension services, while utilizing diagnostic equipment and computerized systems to troubleshoot complex problems. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and fluid flushes, then execute quality control checks and test drives to verify repairs. Communicate with customers to explain recommendations and provide estimates, while collaborating with management to coordinate workflow and mentor junior technicians. Maintain accurate inspection records and adhere strictly to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work within the United States while employed by Leeds West Groups
- An active and unrestricted driver's license
- Prior industry knowledge and/or experience
- Must meet consistent attendance expectations
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more
- Must have adequate vision, hearing and speaking abilities
- Must be able to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching, driving, climbing, and other repetitive motions
- Must have physical strength, agility, dexterity, and endurance
- Must be able to work long hours in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines
- Must be able to complete test drives correctly and in accordance with company policy, procedures, safety best practices, and traffic laws
- Must be able to utilize diagnostic equipment, technical manuals, and computerized systems to diagnose and troubleshoot complex automotive problems
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers to explain repair recommendations, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns
- Must be able to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Must be able to abide by and promote workplace safety requirements and best practices
- Must be able to stay current on industry trends, technology advancements, and regulatory changes affecting automotive repair and safety
- Must be able to collaborate with management and other team members to coordinate workflow
- Must be able to provide and receive constructive feedback
- Must be able to manage priorities, multitask, and complete objectives with minimal supervision
- Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing automotive technologies, methods, and best practices
- Must be proficient with computer and software systems
- Must be proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment, including scan tools, multimeters, and computerized diagnostic software, and Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI)
- Must have a strong and clear understanding and knowledge of the proper use of shop equipment, tools, and fluids
- Must be proficient in inventory and expense management
- Must be able to thrive in a high-paced sales environment
- Must be able to meet the minimum age requirement of eighteen years
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of automotive technical training program
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience
- ASE or other relevant certifications
- Ability to maintain a clean driving record
