Job Summary
Automotive Technician Apprentice position at Andy Mohr Kia (VTAP) in Avon, IN. This full-time, one-year competency-based apprenticeship, GI Bill–approved, enables military veterans to train alongside experienced technicians toward Kia Service Technician certification while earning a Monthly Housing Allowance. Responsibilities include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Kia vehicles (engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, electrical systems), performing inspections and diagnostics per Kia procedures, completing repair orders and warranty documentation, test driving to verify repairs, and maintaining a safe, organized shop environment. Preferred qualifications include ASE certifications or technical training; prior mechanical/technical experience is beneficial. Benefits include full-time employment with a Kia Retailer and GI Bill–supported apprenticeship leading to certification and potential MHA during training.
Required Qualifications
- Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment
- Willingness to complete background check and drug screening
