Job Summary
Diagnose and repair major vehicle components, including engine systems, brakes, suspension, and HVAC, by performing multi-point inspections and utilizing handheld diagnostic tools. Execute work outlined on repair orders with accuracy, conduct road tests to confirm repairs, and document all findings on assigned repair orders. Communicate with service advisors regarding additional work needs or delays, and participate in manufacturer-sponsored training to maintain proficiency in complex technologies. Assist novice technicians, ensure vehicles are returned clean, and adhere to safety regulations and warranty claim procedures.
Required Qualifications
- ASE certifications
- Manufacturer certifications
- Previous automotive technician experience
- Must have basic tools
- Must have great technical and mechanical skills
- Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
- Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test)
Desired Qualifications
- Must be a Master or Level 'A' Service Technician
- Must be extremely familiar and seasoned in a particular manufacturer line
- Must have received all manufacturer certifications including but not limited to engine mechanical, engine control systems, electric, hydraulic brake systems, suspension, heating/air conditioning, instruments/gauges, drivability, intermittent issues and noises
