Job Summary
Manage and direct all automotive and general service technicians in the operation of the shop, including recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, scheduling, and coaching employees. Deliver exceptional customer service by listening to clients, following up on requested services and estimated completion times, and discussing pricing estimates while promoting shop specials. Oversee complete vehicle inspections, diagnose repairs for domestic, European, and Asian vehicles, build computerized repair orders, and source parts. Lead the team while maintaining inventory counts and overseeing all sales, accounting, and clerical functions from Service Advisors.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of store or service manager experience
- General automotive knowledge
- Strong POS computer and Internet skills
- Leadership ability
Desired Qualifications
- College degree or some coursework (preferred)
- Three years of experience in the automotive repair business
- Some supervisory/management/mentor experience
- A continuous improvement background
- P&L experience
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service disposition
- Good communication skills
