Automotive Software Test Engineer

Job Summary

Design and execute test plans for system-level validation of ADAS components using HIL, SIL, and demo vehicles. Conduct functional, performance, and reliability testing on various vehicle systems to validate compliance with design specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies, requirements, and acceptance criteria while documenting procedures and findings in clear reports. Leverage proficiency in CANoe, CAPL scripting, and Python/C++ for network analysis and automation. Requires 7+ years of automotive software testing experience, strong knowledge of CAN/LIN protocols, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of vehicle architectures, CAN/LIN communication protocols, and diagnostic tools
  • Experience in vehicle level activities minimum 7 years
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, C/C++
  • Proficiency in using CANoe for network analysis and CAPL for scripting and testing
  • Experience in test plan execution on HIL and SIL
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and data acquisition systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Full English proficiency
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automotive Engineering
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Related technical fields
  • Minimum 5 to 8+ years of experience in automotive software testing or validation
  • Strong knowledge of Automotive software development lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of ASPICE processes
  • Strong knowledge of Requirements-based testing methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of CAN
  • Strong knowledge of CAN FD
  • Strong knowledge of LIN
  • Strong knowledge of Automotive Ethernet
  • Hands-on experience with CANoe
  • Hands-on experience with CANalyzer
  • Hands-on experience with CAPL scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Vector tools
  • Experience developing test automation using Python
  • Experience developing test automation using C/C++
  • Experience developing test automation using Shell scripting
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Good spoken and written English

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety standard and automotive SPICE
  • Experience with simulation tools such as Simulink, CarSim, or dSPACE
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience testing one or more of the following: DMS, OMS, SVM, Parking Systems, AEB, RAEB, ADAS perception systems
  • Experience with camera-based vision systems and image processing validation
  • Experience working with QNX Neutrino RTOS
  • Experience working with Linux embedded systems
  • Understanding of ISO 26262 Functional Safety
  • Understanding of SOTIF (ISO 21448)
  • Understanding of Automotive Cybersecurity (ISO 21434)
  • Experience with HIL/SIL environments
  • Experience with dSPACE
  • Experience with ETAS
  • Experience with Vector VT Systems
  • ASPICE assessor or practitioner experience is a plus
  • Experience in software qualification audits and process compliance reviews
