Job Summary
Coordinate repair orders and dispatch them to technicians based on skill level, workload, and availability; monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance; collaborate with Service Advisors and Shop Foreman to prioritize customer needs and expedite urgent repairs; balance technician workloads to maximize productivity; track vehicle status and communicate updates on delays or scheduling adjustments; review progress and adjust assignments to optimize shop performance; support capacity planning and scheduling; ensure proper documentation and routing of repair orders through the service process; contribute to customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability while maintaining a safe, organized shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous automotive dealership service experience preferred.
- Prior dispatching, shop foreman, service advisor, or technician experience highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive repair processes and technician skill classifications.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar) preferred.
- Proficiency with computers and basic office software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
