Job Summary
Execute repairs on gasoline engine vehicles and transmission systems per manufacturer specifications, utilizing diagnostic tools and special service equipment. Test-drive vehicles to verify component and system functionality, ensuring customer cars remain clean and your stall is orderly. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional service needs and provide time estimates for repairs. Perform warranty repairs strictly under manufacturer guidelines while maintaining efficiency on repair orders. Operate electronic diagnostic equipment to identify problems quickly and apply knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as Automotive Transmission technician
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- A fast learner
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Team Player
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to identify problems quickly
- Good knowledge of gasoline engine automobiles
- GM and State certifications in gasoline engine repair
- Effective analytical and communication skills
- Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills
- Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
- Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
