Automotive Service Technician - GM Heavy Line

Job Summary
Perform diesel engine diagnostics, removal and installation of diesel engines, evaluate electrical components, and execute repairs on brakes, front end, and A/C systems. Conduct full automotive troubleshooting, testing, and routine service inspections while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and shop organization. Communicate service status and estimated completion times to service advisors and attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions. Adhere strictly to shop policies, safety, and environmental regulations. Valid California driver's license with a clean record required; close to EV certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- some post-secondary automotive training
- at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience
- certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
- unrestricted California driver's license

Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years' HEAVY LINE GM experience preferred
- dealership experience preferred
- National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification (s) or certifications (s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems, or engine performance preferred
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
- Safety and customer service are oriented
- Professional appearance and work ethic
- Self-motivated with solid work habits
