Job Summary
Automotive Service Instructor responsible for teaching high school students basic automotive service skills, developing and implementing program curriculum, and supporting student success. Responsibilities include organizing and managing the program, employing diverse teaching techniques and materials aligned with curriculum and objectives, enabling student planning, participation, and evaluation of activities, maintaining a safe and orderly classroom, developing Program Pathways, creating program displays, assisting students with learning challenges, aiding job placement, communicating with member school districts, and collaborating with local business and industry advisory committees. Must have ASE certification preferred, substantial work experience in automotive service, and meet licensure requirements through the Illinois State Board of Education. Term is 9 1/2 months, full-time; salary per union contract, depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- ASE Certification preferred
- Have considerable work experience in all aspects of the automotive service field
- Must meet all qualifications for the appropriate license through the Illinois State Board of Education
