Job Summary
Automotive Technician position at BRAM Auto Group in the New York, NY area. Responsible for diagnosing vehicle malfunctions, performing repair work per repair orders, maintenance and lubrication of vehicles (including suspension and moving parts), determining additional safety or service work, documenting all work, road-testing and test-driving vehicles using diagnostic tools, ensuring cleanliness of customer vehicles, maintaining tools and shop area, adhering to federal/state/local regulations (including hazardous waste disposal), complying with factory/state certification requirements, and attending factory-sponsored trainings. Required Qualifications
- Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
- Exams vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required and notifies service advisor
- Responsible for documenting all work performed
- Road-tests vehicles when required; test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Ensures cleanliness of all customers vehicles
- Keeps shop area neat, clean, and able to account for all dealership-owned tools
- Understands and follows federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes
- Complies with factory and state requirements for technical certifications
- Attends factory-sponsored training classes as required
