Automotive Quality Engineer

Job Summary
Establish IATF 16949 quality controls for automotive accessories through development, application, and maintenance of standards using data analysis and continuous improvement. Lead internal audits, process audits, and layered process audits while preparing for third-party and customer surveillance audits. Drive risk-based thinking with PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, and APQP, managing nonconformance via 8D methodology and root cause analysis. Submit and approve PPAP submissions, interpret OEM-specific requirements for Ford, GM, and Stellantis, and respond to customer complaints and warranty issues. Coordinate containment activities, track scorecards, and ensure compliance with OEM portals and documentation standards. Participate in New Product Launches and support cross-functional teams. Minimal local travel required; U.S. work authorization without sponsorship needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in automotive quality within an IATF 16949-certified environment
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 standard and clauses
- Strong working knowledge of Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
- Experience with OEM customer requirements and portals
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Knowledge and experience
- Experience with receiving, creating, sending IMDS
- Must have the ability to work for any employer in the United States

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)
- Certified Internal Auditor IATF 16949 preferred (ISO 13485 or AS9100 acceptable)
