Job Summary
The Program Buyer serves as the key liaison between the Program Core Team and suppliers, focusing on the development phase of new business awards and ensuring the timely and cost-effective launch of programs. Key responsibilities include executing category strategies, delivering on major program objectives, preparing sourcing documentation, negotiating contracts, managing program-related costs and timing, and providing regular updates to the program team. Success in the role requires a completed degree, 5 years of experience in international procurement within the automotive sector, strong communication skills, proficiency in relevant software, and a willingness to travel internationally.
Required Qualifications
- Completed technical or business degree with strong technical aptitude, or equivalent experience
- 5 Years’ professional experience in international procurement of technical products, preferably in the automotive sector
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and work effectively in global, cross-functional teams
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence tools
- Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 20%) and demonstrated intercultural competence
- Basic understanding of commercial contract law
- Customer-focused mindset with strong adherence to deadlines
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3 processes
- Broad understanding of manufacturing processes and capability to interpret and analyze CBDs
- Ability and willingness to source newly developed products
