Job Summary
Automotive Painter at Ports America (FAPS) responsible for final prep, spray painting and clear coating on vehicles in a maritime terminal setting. Responsibilities include inspecting for body damage, fine line taping, surface cleaning, color matching, blending to manufacturer standards, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, reporting, inventory management, and training/new-hire orientation. The role requires use of paints and solvents, PPE, lifting up to 90 lbs, and working in a shop with variable conditions. 7:00am–3:30pm shift with potential overtime/weekend work; NJ-based, on-site position with no sponsorship offered. The ideal candidate demonstrates safety commitment, strong communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to obtain Port Access Card and TWIC credentials.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of formal auto body training or certification
- 2+ years experience operating automatic and straight (manual) shift vehicles
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain a Port Access Card issued by the New Jersey State Police
- Obtain and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
