Automotive Painter - 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Prepare work by studying work orders, blueprints, and bills of materials. Operate paint spray equipment to apply paint coats to bodies and parts while adjusting flow and coating thickness. Match colors and inspect finished work for quality. Dispose of hazardous waste according to federal and state laws. Document actions on production and quality forms and maintain a clean work area. Wear respirators and paint suits to observe health and safety. Participate in continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions. This 3rd shift role requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and working in areas without air conditioning. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, and experience with automotive paint and pressure feed spray equipment are required. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with good standing MVR.
- Must have experience in automotive paint and prep work.
- Must have experience using pressure feed spray equipment.
- Attention to detail is a must!
- Able to use hand and power tools and equipment.
- Ability to operate a forklift if required.
- Must have basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant demands and shifting of priorities.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees.
- Ability to be responsive and highly efficient with relaying information.
- Ability to successfully complete respirator medical evaluation.
- Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
- Requires lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to read numbers, reports and computer terminals.
- Requires hearing within normal range.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
Desired Qualifications
- Some technical training helpful.
