Job Summary
Inspect all materials to be painted before and after preparation, then smooth surfaces by sanding parts and grinding welds. Prepare surfaces for the wet-on-wet paint process while recognizing, repairing, and glazing major defects with no assistance. Repair and glaze minor dents and gouges, train others in the department as needed, and maintain a safe, clean work environment by complying with all procedures and regulations. This 1st shift Automotive Metal Finisher role requires 3+ months of related experience, knowledge of automotive metal finish and paint processes, and proficiency with hammer/dolly techniques and polyester primers.
Required Qualifications
- 3 or more months of related experience
- Ability to perform twisting, turning, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, vest
- Close vision
