Job Summary
Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders, conducting inspections, and repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions. Replace parts and components, read service procedures, and maintain vehicle records by entering notes and service orders. Keep shop equipment operating through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs while assisting with daily organization and clean-up. Mentor team members, coach on job responsibilities, and serve as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customer. This role requires 8 years of experience, valid driver's license, and ability to travel up to 30 percent. Located in Allen Park, MI.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- US citizen
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a mechanic
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly
- Ability to operate shop equipment
- Good attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to mentor and train others
- Own tools with rolling toolbox
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel up to 30 percent
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
- State Mechanic Certification(s)
- Knowledge of vehicle alignments
- Knowledge of air conditioning (A/C) system repairs
- Knowledge of tire machines
- Knowledge of balancers
