Job Summary
Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections. Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, replace parts and components, and read service procedures. Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders. Keep shop equipment operating through troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up. Requires high school diploma, four years of mechanic experience, valid driver's license, and own rolling toolbox. Full-time role in Allen Park, MI with benefits including medical, dental, 401K, and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Mechanic
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly
- Ability to operate shop equipment
- Good attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Own tools with rolling toolbox
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
- State Mechanic Certification(s)
- Knowledge of vehicle alignments
- Knowledge of air conditioning (A/C) system repairs
- Knowledge of tire machines and balancers
