Job Summary
Automotive Maryland State Inspector role focused on performing Maryland state inspections and diagnosing vehicles. Responsibilities include examining and diagnosing vehicles, discussing repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor, communicating additional service requests to the service advisor, planning work procedures with the shop foreman, providing labor time estimates to the service advisor, monitoring repair time and updating the service advisor, maintaining adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care, completing story/documentation for client repairs, mentoring technician trainees, attending company and factory training, staying current with factory technical bulletins, understanding and following federal/state/local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal), applying proper PPE and safety standards, keeping the inspected vehicle clean, and contributing to a safe shop environment. Candidates must hold a Maryland State Inspection License, have a high school diploma or GED, possess 1–3 months of related experience/training, be authorized to work in the USA, and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
