Job Summary
Lead Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, mentor technicians toward improved customer care and satisfaction, and stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through ongoing paid formal training. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition/electrical, suspension/alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems; explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-technical customers; obtain or maintain ASE certifications within the first two years; train technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities; participate in a performance-based, flat-rate pay structure. Preferred qualifications include ASE certification in A1-A8 (L1 may count as one of the three), strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, and automatic/transaxle transmission work; 5 years of automotive repair experience or equivalent through certifications/education; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people. The role is based in Nashville, TN with Bridgestone Americas and involves leading a team in a reputable Bridgestone/Firestone Tire & Auto Care environment with training, mentorship, and opportunities for professional development.
Required Qualifications
- valid automobile driver's license
- ASE certifications in A1-A8 (at least five within two years)
- Skilled in brakes diagnosis/repair
- Skilled in alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair
- Skilled in general automotive maintenance & tire repair
- Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable
