Job Summary
Lead Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while leveraging leadership and mentoring skills to drive a team toward improved customer care and satisfaction. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems; explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals; stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous paid formal training; assist and train technicians in performing technical activities; obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within first two years of employment (tests and registrations fees paid by company); compensation includes flat-rate pay with bonuses for ASE tests; minimum qualifications include valid driver’s license and strong communication skills; preferred qualifications include knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, automatic/manual transmissions, and 5 years of automotive repair experience or equivalent; ASE certification in at least 3 of A1-A8 (L1 can count as one) is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid automobile driver's license
- Skilled in brakes diagnosis/repair
- Skilled in alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair
- Skilled in general automotive maintenance & tire repair
- Reading, writing and math skills
- A.S.E. certifications in at least five of A1 – A8 within first two years (tests and registration fees paid by company)
- Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable
