Job Summary
Lead Technician responsible for diagnosing drivability and electrical systems, leading and mentoring a team to improve customer care and satisfaction. Prepare and explain technical diagnoses to non-mechanical individuals; stay current with automotive technology through formal training; train other technicians in performing technical activities. Must obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within the first two years. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing to specifications across brakes/hydraulic, exhaust, primary/advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems; strong emphasis on communication and coaching, with a performance-based flat-rate pay structure, and ongoing training and certification support.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a valid automobile driver's license
- Skilled in brakes diagnosis/repair
- Skilled in alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair
- Skilled in general automotive maintenance & tire repair
- Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people
- Reading, writing and math skills
- Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five of A1 – A8 within first two years of employment
