Job Summary
Repair and overhaul automobiles, vans, trucks, and other vehicles by removing, disassembling, inspecting, and replacing engines, transmissions, and differentials. Overhaul fuel system components, rewire ignition systems, realign brakes, and road test vehicles before and after repairs. Diagnose malfunctions, communicate with customers and service advisors regarding damage extent, and document all work on repair orders. Supervise apprentice technicians, maintain shop cleanliness, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Maintain required ASE certifications and utilize all personal protective equipment while performing assigned tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ ASE Certifications
- Strong Electrical & Engine Performance Diagnostics experience
- Well rounded in the basics of steering, brakes, engine mechanical and HVAC
- Valid in-state driver's license
- Ability to read English, do basic mathematical calculations, and comprehend instructions and information
- Knowledge of automobiles and their working components, and ability to diagnose and repair automobiles
- Effective analytical and communication skills
- Ability to learn new technology, procedures and specifications
- Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to physically operate any and all equipment required for the job
- Ability to lift, push, pull 25 lbs. or greater
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push or pull as needed to perform job functions
- Must be available for Wednesday-Friday 7:30AM-8:00 pm and Saturdays 7:30am - 6:00pm
Desired Qualifications
- Experience and training in diesel repairs
- Advanced Technology Hybrids/Electric cars experience
- 4+ years of successful experience
- Driving history adequate for obtaining vehicular insurance through dealership's commercial insurance carrier
