Job Summary
Automotive Install Technician role responsible for removing factory interior and exterior equipment and installing emergency vehicle parts including lightbars, emergency lighting, push bumpers, sirens, controllers, speakers, partitions, window bars, prisoner seats, gun racks, car video systems, license plate readers, and related equipment. Requires experience in automotive repair or 2-way radio installation and/or emergency installation, with mechanical/electrical/electronic aptitude, ability to lift 50 lbs, and use of hand and power tools. The position emphasizes training and education in upfitting vehicles for emergency responders and supports a family-friendly, full-time daytime schedule (Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM) with potential overtime; location is Chesapeake, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in automotive repair
- Experience in 2-way radio installation
- Experience in emergency installation
- Possess a current Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work with hand and power tools
- Aptitude in mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
- Ability to work independently in a team environment
