Job Summary
Drive vehicles onto railcars using a ramp system, often working at heights, and ensure they are properly spotted, spaced, and secured. Perform duties to prepare railcars and containers for shipment, including opening and closing doors, setting bridge plates, and chocking vehicles. Maintain yard inventory organization and adhere to all safety standards while communicating with terminal managers and railroad personnel. Follow the daily plan as communicated by local leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR)
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to push, pull, or carry up to 50lbs.
- Must be comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Must be willing to complete a criminal background check.
