Job Summary
Automotive & Fleet Mechanic responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnosing and repairing diesel fleet vehicles, ensuring DOT/compliance, and maintaining safe, efficient operations. Will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on commercial trucks and fleet equipment, conduct safety inspections, maintain maintenance records, communicate status and recommendations, maintain a clean OSHA-compliant shop, assist with emergency repairs, and travel overnight as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial fleet vehicles
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Truck/Trailer Mechanic
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle compliance requirements
- Experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems preferred
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair mechanical issues
- Must possess the tools necessary to perform job duties
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Military maintenance experience is highly valued
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related field preferred; ASE certifications are a plus
