Job Summary
Perform day-to-day activities in the Processing Department to dismantle automobiles safely and efficiently in compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Assist Dismantlers and Trainers with vehicle dismantling, learning the system for tagging and storing all parts, and working with Engine Dismantlers as needed. Comply with all safety standards and requirements to ensure a hazard-free workplace while assuming other duties as assigned. No supervisory responsibilities. Requires background in body repair, mechanical work, or previous dismantling experience, plus ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Background in either body repair, mechanical, or previous dismantling experience
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Basic computer skills
- Basic messages communicated orally
- May write brief messages and keep simple records
- Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures
- Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved
- Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager
- Assignments/priorities provide by supervisor/manager
- Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements)
