Automotive Diesel Service Technician

Job Summary
Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures. Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning. Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to test components and systems. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional services needed and provide time estimates for repairs. Execute warranty repairs under manufacturer specifications. Requires 5+ years of diesel service experience, ASE certification, and A-level qualifications in diagnostic, electrical, and engine repair. Operate electronic diagnostic equipment and learn new technologies in a family-owned shop with over 100 years of history.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Diesel Service Technician experience
- ASE Certification
- A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
- Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies
- Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment
- Basic computer skills
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
- Ability to collaborate effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
