Automotive Diagnostic Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct scheduled pre-inspections and perform initial 15–20-minute diagnostic assessments on main shop vehicles before dispatch. Verify customer concerns, identify safety needs, execute full-vehicle scans, and determine the most likely diagnostic path while checking fluids, battery condition, and warning indicators. Document findings clearly through the repair order and technician video process, recommend appropriate diagnostic time and skill levels, and communicate urgent findings to advisors and leadership. Assist with difficult cases and help identify training opportunities to reduce unnecessary diagnostic time and repeat visits.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of professional automotive repair experience
- Strong electrical and drivability diagnostic background
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to produce clear inspection and diagnostic videos
- Strong written documentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Stellantis, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram experience
- ASE certifications, particularly A6, A8, and L1
- Experience with factory scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, wiring diagrams, and technical service information
