Job Summary
Perform complete interior and exterior vehicle detailing to showroom standards, including washing, drying, clay bar treatment, polishing, waxing, and applying protective coatings. Vacuum, shampoo carpets, clean upholstery, condition leather, and sanitize interiors while removing light stains, water spots, and adhesive residue. Operate buffers, polishers, extractors, steam cleaners, and pressure washers safely to clean windows, mirrors, wheels, and engine compartments. Inspect vehicles before and after detailing to ensure quality standards are met, identifying cosmetic issues requiring additional repair or paint correction. Prepare vehicles for photography, showroom display, customer delivery, and transport while maintaining equipment and ensuring chemical and tool safety. Meet daily production, quality, and turnaround goals in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of professional automotive detailing experience
- Experience detailing a high volume of vehicles in a dealership, reconditioning center, fleet, or automotive environment
- Knowledge of automotive detailing chemicals, products, equipment, and industry best practices
- Experience operating buffers, polishers, extractors, pressure washers, steam cleaners, and other detailing equipment
- Ability to identify cosmetic defects and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Operations team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and work in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistance
- Must be able to enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the day
- Must be able to operate manual and powered detailing equipment, including pressure washers, polishers, buffers, steam cleaners, extractors, and vacuums
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements while cleaning, polishing, and detailing vehicles
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and direct sunlight
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to vehicle exhaust, cleaning chemicals, soaps, waxes, and other automotive products while following all required safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to safely drive and maneuver vehicles on company property and in parking areas
- Must be able to maintain visual attention to detail to identify cosmetic imperfections, cleanliness standards, and quality issues
- Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced production environment while adhering to company safety policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Experience detailing luxury or electric vehicles
- Paint correction and ceramic coating experience
- Knowledge of dealership or used vehicle reconditioning processes
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is a plus
