Job Summary
Automotive Creative Exterior Designer at Huawei's Milan Aesthetic Research Center (MARC). Responsibilities include creating bold exterior visions, developing exterior design proposals from concept exploration to production-ready proposals, shaping ideas into polished design solutions, and crafting compelling design stories for alignment across teams. The role requires understanding the Chinese automotive landscape, collaborating globally, and traveling to China and other project hubs several times a year to support development. Required skills include 2D/3D design, Blender proficiency, ability to work with clay modelers, AI-driven design tools, a strong design portfolio, excellent communication, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently; English is required and Chinese is a plus. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automotive Design and 1-4 years of experience are preferred. Location is Milan, Italy with in-person work expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automotive Design
- 1-4 years of experience in automotive or mobility design (top-tier agency or in-house studio) or a highly creative portfolio
- Strong 2D/3D design abilities—from expressive sketching to refined digital rendering
- Advanced proficiency in Blender for modeling and visualization
- Ability to collaborate with clay modelers at small or full scale
- High fluency with AI-driven design tools to accelerate creativity and workflow
- A portfolio demonstrating design thinking across multiple sectors
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design intent
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
- Fluency in English; Chinese is a plus
- Comfort working in a multicultural, international environment
