Automotive Commercial Underwriter

Job Summary

Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and ledgers to evaluate dealership credit packages and recommend appropriate security structures. Communicate risk assessments and mitigation strategies to legal counsel and direct package decisions to the appropriate authority levels. Maintain UCC filings, review loan documentation prior to funding, and conduct periodic account reviews while managing stakeholder inquiries. Perform final audits before loan funding and handle ad hoc duties as assigned. This hybrid role in Dallas, TX requires 8AM–6PM Monday through Friday schedules with occasional weekend work and up to 10% travel. Candidates must possess US work authorization; sponsorship is not provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in automotive financial services
  • Minimum 2 years automotive commercial underwriting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related
  • Excellent understanding of dealership entity legal ownership structure and clear, concise explanation of those structures
  • Strong knowledge of cash flow analysis and pro forma forecasting and scaling
  • Strong written and oral communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and time management abilities
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must live within a commutable distance to Dallas, TX
  • Must be able to work various shifts to accommodate business needs
  • Must be able to work between the hours of 8AM-6PM Monday through Friday and on weekends as needed
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time
  • Must possess authorization to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience - Commercial risk management and/or commercial lending
  • Extensive experience interacting with dealers preferred
  • Knowledge of web-based tools such as DataScan, Docusign, Salesforce, credit reporting, OFAC, and customer due diligence products preferred
