Job Summary
Evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical claims using in-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanics and company-specific computer systems. Communicate via telephone and email with vehicle contract holders, repair facilities, and other parties to resolve claim-related requests while demonstrating empathy and compassion. Collaborate with leaders and claim analysts to uphold the company's reputation for honesty, fairness, and excellence in all interactions. Maintain detailed and accurate electronic claim-related records by adhering to established department processes. This role offers a transition from shop floor work to a modern office environment for skilled mechanics with at least three years of automotive experience. The position starts September 14th with six weeks of on-site training, followed by a hybrid schedule of two office days and three remote days.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 3 years of proven experience as an automotive mechanic or in a related mechanical field
- A strong understanding of vehicle repair processes
- Ability to clearly discuss elements of the repair process with both mechanical and non-mechanical individuals
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to clearly and effectively articulate information to callers, colleagues, and stakeholders over the phone
- Prior success in a customer service role
- Experience resolving complex requests
- Ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction
- Technology proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Email, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to navigate multiple software systems and monitors while assisting customers on the phone
- Detail-oriented
- Motivated self-starter
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced call center environment with minimal oversight
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule out of the St. Louis, MO office (2 days in office/3 days at home)
- Must be willing to work Saturdays occasionally
- A high-speed home internet connection
