Automotive Body Technician

Job Summary
Diagnose, inspect, and test vehicles to accurately record findings, then use approved repair techniques to replace body parts, suspension components, and structural pulls. Repair dents and recondition vehicles to pre-accident condition while clearly communicating repairs and timelines to estimators and other technicians. Complete factory and I-CAR training requirements as requested. This role involves working in a fast-paced production shop environment with a 45-50 hour week, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods. Continued training is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Able to perform day-to-day body procedures in a production shop environment
- Have at least 2 years' experience working in a production shop as an Automotive Body Technician
- Provide his or her own tools
- Frame rack and measuring experience
- Be able to lift up to fifty (50) lbs without assistance
- Be able to stand, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods of time on concrete
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be organized
- Be a self-motivated team player
- Be able to communicate effectively with team members
- Work well with estimators, painters, and other body technicians
- Have a valid driver's license
- Be able to drive both automatic and manual vehicles
- Pass a motor vehicle report
- Possess a safe driving record
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a drug test
- Be subject to random drug testing
- Be subject to reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing
- Be subject to post-accident testing at the company's request
- Be able to work standing up
- Be able to walk
- Be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment
- Be able to speak and listen, both over the phone and in person
- Be able to reach with hands and arms
- Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Be able to work in a seated position
