Job Summary
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, filling, and priming vehicles, equipment, and components. Operate spray guns to apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and industrial finishes while matching colours for consistent coverage. Perform touch-ups and corrections, inspect work for defects, and properly mix coatings per manufacturer specifications. Maintain and clean equipment, follow all health and safety procedures including PPE use, and keep accurate work records. Work independently in a shop or paint booth environment, cooperating with mechanics and technicians to meet production deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as an automotive or travel trailer painter
- Experience with spray painting and refinishing techniques
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, priming, colour matching, and finishing procedures
- Ability to read and follow product specifications and technical instructions
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle painting materials and equipment
- Ability to work in a shop environment and occasionally in outdoor conditions
- Ability to work in confined or elevated areas when required
- Ability to wear required respiratory and protective equipment for extended periods
