Job Summary
Automotive Technician Apprentice at Kia VTAP in Tuscaloosa, AL. Join a one-year, competency-based GI Bill–approved apprenticeship designed to train Military Veterans into Kia Service Technicians. Full-time position with receiving training, tools, and support to diagnose, service, and repair Kia vehicles, working alongside experienced technicians and service professionals. Responsibilities include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing Kia vehicles (engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, electrical systems); performing diagnostics and repairs per Kia procedures; completing repair orders and warranty documentation; test driving to verify repair quality; communicating with service advisors and shop foremen to ensure a positive customer experience; maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment. Preferred ASE certifications or technical training; background check and drug screening required. Participation in a one-year apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification with potential Monthly Housing Allowance through GI Bill.”,
Required Qualifications
- Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
