Job Summary
Perform standardized vehicle inspections, including stationary checks and road tests, to ensure all cars meet high mechanical and safety standards. Diagnose and assess mechanical issues, identifying necessary repairs and preventative maintenance while providing recommendations based on inspection results. Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs such as brake jobs, suspension work, tire services, and fluid changes, documenting all findings accurately in Clutch systems. Adhere to company standards and communicate effectively with reconditioning staff and management regarding vehicle status and workflow changes. This role supports Clutch's mission to reinvent the used car buying experience by ensuring vehicles are ready for customer delivery and sale.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of automotive technician experience, including mechanical diagnostics and repair
- Experience working with a variety of vehicle brands (domestic, import, and European)
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and adapt to changing demands in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable using technology (Google Drive, Slack, inspection documentation tools)
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
- Able to commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, including overtime based on business needs
- Monday to Thursday: 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM
Desired Qualifications
- Formal automotive technician training or relevant certifications
- Experience with advanced diagnostic tools or scan tools
- Previous apprenticeship experience in a reconditioning or dealership environment
