Job Summary
Manage your own caseload from inception through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials. Take and defend depositions, prepare and file dispositive motions, and handle arbitrations and mediations. Ensure meticulous compliance with court deadlines and provide regular updates and comprehensive written status reports to insurers. Conduct in-depth legal research, prepare strategic memoranda, and collaborate with partners to develop effective litigation strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- At least 4 years of experience handling the defense of Automobile and Premises Liability cases in the State of New York
- Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions
- Ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests
- Ability to prepare comprehensive written status reports for insurers
- Previous experience taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions independently
- Prior ADR experience handling arbitrations and mediations
